Shortcuts may be confusing to learn, especially when you are new to macOS. In order to be able to copy and paste on Mac, you just need to use Command ( ⌘ ) + C to copy, as well as Command ( ⌘ ) + V to paste. The trackpad or mouse also supports right- clicking. Before making a copy, make sure that the text or file is selected. In case the shortcuts do not work, go through your system preferences or keyboard. On more complex problems or troubleshooting, there are such helpful sites like devicefixes.
