Parental control apps allow parents to control how much screen time their children have, block inappropriate content, track app usage, and in some cases include location monitoring for increased safety. These tools can also generate reports of online activity and alert to risky activity. A lot of families are using them in an effort to promote better digital behavior and limit access to unsuitable content. But it's important to note that while these applications are useful, they should be used in conjunction with a regular discussion of online safety, not exclusively. Parental control apps can be used in a responsible way to help parents better manage their child's technology use, and enable balanced technology use.
